Collection: Malabsorption/ Malnutrition

If not treated, malabsorption can cause many health conditions including malnutrition. How do we treat malabsorption? 

  • First work on your mental health 
    • Heal your old traumas
    • Calm down your fight and flight response (Easier said that done!!)
    • Reduce stress in your life
  • Avoid inflammatory and  low in nutrients foods
    • Sugar
    • Fried food
    • Canola oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, and other processed plant based oils
    • Starch 
  • Chew your food as long as you can and savor savor savor !!
    • I'm guilty as much as you are in this behaviour and I'm learning to slow down
    • Be 100% with the food and not with TIGER chasing after you
    • Finishing your meal 5-10 minutes earlier will save you sometime now; however, it will you cost you hours in pain, low energy, and/ or inconvenience later in the day due to the indigestion caused by eating fast  
    • Try NOT to eat alone
    • Teach your kids to slow down and not to rush into finishing their plates 
      • Teaching others will force you to walk the talk 
  • Eat probiotics foods and/ or take probiotics supplements
  • Take digestive enzymes and bile salts after consultations with your dietitian 
  • DO NOT TAKE PPIs before doing your research
    • Make sure it is suitable for your case
